A PODCAST for KIDS AGE 4 and UP and their FAMILIES
Come on in and meet Remy, a kid who lives above a bustling and vibrant music café where musicians, artists, and artisans hang out and do their thing. At Remy’s Place you're sure to get an earful of life as a maker - of music, art, food, home, and friends. And every episode features a great original song performed by some of NYC's most sought after musicians. Above all, Remy’s Place celebrates the human drive to create, communicate, and connect.
You can find the first episode of Remy's Place on the iTunes store here, a second episode with a song featuring the amazing Norah Jones here, and for access to all ten episodes of the first season, download the Pinna app for your iOS device. Or check out the show using the links below.
Listen in as Remy explores his world, collecting sounds and ideas on his old fashioned tape recorder. He might make a new friend, help someone who is sad, get ready for a Dumpling Festival, or learn a new game. Before his day is done, whatever’s on Remy’s mind becomes part of a new song, thanks to Jules, his dad and front man of the house band. Along with Sophia (Remy's mom) and the rhythm section of Jackie Banga (drums), Jackie Keyes (piano), and Jackie Lowe (bass), the entire gang at Remy’s Place never fails to deliver something tasty for your brain, and a song for your heart.
Singer-songwriter Richard Julian (The Little Willies) and composer-producer Michael Rubin (Blues Clues, Bubble Guppies) collaborate to write an original song for each episode of Remy’s Place. The resulting collection of music is a melange of jazz, country, funk, and R&B tunes that greatly expand the palate of what young listeners might experience on a typical media diet.
World-class musicians came into the studio to record the music for Remy’s Place, players you’ve certainly heard on the platinum records of your favorite stars, but perhaps never heard of because they’re in the liner notes, not the headliners.
